Understanding your warranty from Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM

At Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, we love to work with new car and truck buyers in Schaumburg! We know that the process of buying a new Dodge Journey can be stressful and involve lots of questions. So, let’s take a quick dive into the world of car warranties for your Zeigler Dodge.

What is a car warranty?

As you may have guessed, an automotive warranty is a promise from the manufacturer to repair defects or mechanical mishaps with your vehicle for a fixed period of time after purchase.

Let’s take the Dodge Powertrain Limited Warranty, for example. New 2020 Dodge vehicles come with a five-year / 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. This means that coverage lasts for either five years from the date of purchase, or 60,000 miles on the odometer, whichever comes first.

Powertrain limited warranty coverage includes these components:

  • Gas engines, including the cylinder block and internal parts, oil and water pump, and supercharger
  • Transmission, including the case and all internal parts, torque converter, pressure sensors, and transmission range switch
  • Drive systems, whether front-wheel, rear-wheel, four-wheel, or all-wheel drive

In addition to the powertrain coverage, a new Dodge will come with a three-year / 36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty, again based on whichever comes first. This is bumper-to-bumper coverage that takes care of any defects with the rest of the vehicle.

Extended warranties are often available for added peace of mind, and your sales advisor at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM can advise you of suitable options at the time of vehicle purchase.
