Understanding Your Car Warranty

Understanding Your Warranty

We love the features crammed into every new Jeep® SUV and RAM truck. But there’s one feature that isn’t talked about quite enough: your car warranty.

There are actually multiple Chrysler car warranties, many of which overlap for an even higher degree of coverage. Your Schaumburg Jeep dealer will discuss the terms and conditions of the ones relevant to the vehicle you lease or purchase.

Basic Comprehensive Warranty

Each new vehicle purchased at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM is covered by a three-year / 36,000-mile basic warranty, and a five-year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty.

These cover repairs due to defects in parts or manufacturing (but not maintenance) on a number of key systems and components and are dated from the vehicle’s initial in-service date. They are also transferrable, potentially improving resale value.

Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty

You don’t need to buy new to get excellent coverage. Any of our Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned models is backed by a seven-year / 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and three-month / 3,000 mile Maximum Care Warranty.

In addition, you get roadside assistance, extended service plans, and more.

Other Forms of Vehicle Protection

Your warranty doesn’t have to end on its original date. With our extended service contracts, available GAP insurance, and a number of other warranty and service extensions, you have many options when it comes to protecting your investment.

Warranty Restrictions

Every warranty comes with restrictions and fine print. Some of these can result in the denial of a warranty claim, or the voiding of the warranty altogether.

Abuse, tampering, and vehicle modifications can all endanger your warranty, while upfits are typically covered by the upfit installer rather than the OEM. If you’re considering modifications or the use of certain aftermarket parts and accessories, ask your dealer first.
