The RAM 1500 comes with the following four engine options:
- 6-Liter Pentastar® V6 Engine: 305 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque
- 0-Liter EcoDiesel V6 Engine: 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque
- 7-Liter HEMI® V8 Engine: 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque
- Supercharged 6.2-Liter HEMI® V8 Engine: 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque
All that power means that the RAM 1500 has a maximum payload capability of up to 2,300 lb. and towing up to 12,750 lb. The RAM 1500 also comes with tow-ready features, like trailer reverse steering control, trailer hitch light, and the trailer steering knob.
RAM 2500: A Closer Look
You can take towing power and capability to the next level in the RAM 2500. In this new RAM, you’ll have your choice of two powerful engines. A 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, for towing up to 17,540 lb and up to 4,010 lb of payload strength.
An available 6.7-liter Cummins® turbo diesel six-cylinder engine produces 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. That means a payload capability of 3,160 lb and towing up to 20,000 pounds.
RAM 3500: A Closer Look
The RAM 3500 never backs down from a challenge. In addition to the engine options available in the RAM 2500, it also comes with an available 6.7-liter high-output Cummins® Turbo Diesel six-cylinder engine. It produces up to 420 horsepower and a best-in-class output of 1,075 lb-ft of torque. That means 6,570 pounds of payload capability and towing up to 37,090 pounds.
