2022 Jeep® Gladiator: An Exceptional Midsize Pickup
It was only a matter of time before the Jeep® brand left its stamp on pickup trucks the same as they have with SUVs. The 2022 Jeep Gladiator is a truck that no other company could have built, combining the capability of a midsize pickup with the toughness you’d expect from the new Jeep SUVs available at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Performance
Like other offerings at our Jeep dealership in Schaumburg, IL, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator comes with more than one powertrain. Most variants ship with a 285 horsepower V6 gas engine. However, a diesel engine is also available, capable of 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
Those powertrains are capable on their own, but they do even better when paired with the optional Max Tow Package. The package consists of a Class IV receiver hitch, enhanced protection from an engine cooler, safety thanks to a trailer brake knob, and also a higher GAWR rear axle.
Sport and Sport S variants equipped with this ensemble can tow up to 7,650 pounds or handle a maximum 1,600 pounds of payload.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Off-Road Capability
Regardless of your trim or powertrain choice, full-time four-wheel drive is standard. However, there are some differences here as well.
The Overland trim enhances safety via a Trail Cam™ that improves terrain visibility when the going gets rough, while the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon offers raised ground clearance, locking Dana axles, and all-terrain tires for an unmatched level of off-road capability.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Special Features
The well-respected UConnect® infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ support, is standard. You’ll also find that similarities to the Jeep Wrangler are more than skin deep; like that SUV, this truck lets you remove the windshield and doors if you’d like.
Available Jeep Gladiator Safety Features
Roll mitigation is standard, but it’s worth asking about optional and trim-specific safety features when you visit Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. Besides the Trail Cam mentioned earlier, these include:
- Backup camera
- Rear parking sensors
- Blind spot monitoring
- Forward collision warning
- Active cruise control
